Daniel, the driving force behind Freeman Fire Inspectors, is an industry veteran in the chimney and hearth industry. He owns The Chimney Doctor, a premier chimney inspection, restoration, and installation company serving the western slope of Colorado. As a technical instructor for Copperfield Chimney Supply he is a recognized leader in chimney education and has taught at conventions for both the Chimney Safety Institute of America and the National Chimney Sweep Guild.

  • ICC Codes Representative for the National Chimney Sweep Guild (NCSG). Officially appointed 2/2024 to represent the NCSG and comment on behalf of the industry to the respective and applicable codes: IRC, IMC, IBC, etc…
  • NFPA Committee Member for NFPA 211: Chimneys, Fireplace, and Venting Systems for Heat Producing Appliances. Appointed to the committee as a volunteer 8/2023. NFPA 211 reduces fire hazards by ensuring the safe removal of flue gases, the proper installation of solid fuel-burning appliances, and the correct construction and installation of chimneys, fireplaces, and venting systems.
  • UL/ULC Standards Technical Committee Member (STP0103).
